Patrick F. Fogarty, MD, is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Fogarty is also Director of the UCSF Hemostasis and Thrombosis Clinic.

Dr. Fogarty received his undergraduate degree at University of Pennsylvania, and he received his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, both in Philadelphia. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC. Dr. Fogarty completed his Hematology fellowship training at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and was a Clinical Research Fellow in the Hematology Section at Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center. His areas of interest include ITP, hemophilia, and other bleeding disorders.

Dr. Fogarty is a member of the American Society of Hematology. He regularly presents at national meetings and is a local lead Investigator for ongoing studies in thrombosis and hemostasis. His original scientific and academic work has appeared in journals such as Lancet, Blood, Hematology-Oncology Clinics of North America, Medical Clinics of North America, American Journal of Hematology, Current Opinion in Hematology, Haematologica, and Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis.
