Howard A. Liebman, MD, is Professor in Medicine and Pathology and Director, Fellowship Program in Hematology, at Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Liebman received his undergraduate and graduate degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Liebman completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County and University of Southern California (LAC+USC) Medical Center. He also completed his Fellowship at LAC+USC Medical Center in Oncology and Hematology, and his Research Fellow in Immunochemistry and Coagulation Chemistry at Tufts University, New England Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Liebman is a member of the American Federation of Clinical Research, American College of Physicians (Fellow), American Society of Hematology, and the American Association of Cancer Research. Dr. Liebman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology. His major areas of research interest include clinical management and characterization of hemostatic and thrombotic disorders, structure and function of the vitamin K dependent coagulation proteins, clinical therapy of HIV disease and AIDS, hematologic aspects of HIV disease, disorders of vitamin B12 binding proteins, Gaucher disease, and autoimmune blood disorders including immune thrombocytopenic purpura and autoimmune hemolytic anemia.
Dr. Liebman is a journal reviewer of American Journal of Hematology, The American Journal of Medical Sciences, and Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Liebman has also numerous publications featured in various chapters, editorials, and abstracts.
